Well, here I go. It's about time to get this blog going. I must admit I'm a bit terrified, overwhelmed and very afraid of my creative inability. But, it's people like Diana Rouse and Liz Hausam that inspire me to try. Visit their blogs and you'll see what I'm aiming to achieve. It seems like an appropriate time to start with fall. School has begun, so I might as well join in on the learning.
Although having the kids leave each day is always difficult on me, it's been a good start to the year at our house. I truly love summer and having them around more. I love the family time, the free time, the cabin time, all of it. But, they are happy which helps make it easier on me. Emily has begun 9th grade and has started the real transcript stuff. Callie is now in middle school and loving every bit of switching classes and teachers throughout the day. As a 3rd grader, Elizabeth is feeling quite comfortable at school and brought home the largest chapter book in the library to start out her reading for the year.
This photo, taken on the first day of school, was the one and only day for the eager awaking in the morning. Now, we have to use alarms and force ourselves to get up early enough to eat breakfast. For three years I've heard no one talks on the middle school bus, but with our morning girl, Callie, it seems to have livened up a bit. It's nice Emily and Callie can ride together again, and Elizabeth seems to be adjusting to standing at the stop on her own. I usually see her talking to one of the construction crew from across the street or swinging around the stop sign pole while singing her favorite tune.
My verse for today and for the new beginnings--
Philippians 4:8 Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute...dwell on these things.
I'm doing my best, and hoping God will continue to bring it all to mind. I am so thankful He is faithful!
